Dinos Invitational Tennis Fundraiser Tournament Details 2024
What: Fundraiser tournament and event to raise funds to support the U of C Dinos Tennis team
When: Wednesday, July 24th, 2024 to Sunday, July 28th, 2024
Where: Elbow Park Tennis Club – 800 34th Avenue SW, Calgary, Alberta T2T 2A3
Friday and Saturday Night events are fully catered for participants. Drinks are available for purchase Wednesday through Sunday. Items in our silent auction can be bid on Wednesday, July 24th through Saturday, July 27th and winners will be announced at 7:30pm on the Saturday.
Tournament events: open to participants 16+ Wednesday through Sunday (one event per person only)
1. Women’s 4.0 Doubles
2. Men’s 4.0 Doubles
3. Men’s 5.0 + Doubles
Format
o Best two of three sets with a 10-point tie breaker as a third set (Main draw)
o First Round consolation draw (Pro set first to 8 games with a 7-point tiebreaker at 7 all
Special events:
Silent Auction: Wednesday, July 24th at 6:00 pm to Saturday, July 27th at 7:30 pm
Tennis Exhibition – Friday, July 27th
o 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm – Singles
o 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm – Food served; drinks available for purchase throughout.
o 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm – Doubles
o 9:00 pm to 9:45 pm – Radar gun challenge
Viewing of the exhibitions on Friday is open to non-participants and is encouraged. Tickets will be available at the door for $10 and at $20 for a ticket and food.
Cost:
Tournament: $50 per person
Exhibition: $10 per person for non-tournament participants or $20 for a ticket and food to the exhibition which can be purchased at the door of Elbow Park Tennis Club on Friday, July 27th
Radar gun challenge: $5 per person at the door of Elbow Park Tennis Club on Friday, July 27th
